The original CrossFire is a military FPS similar to Valve’s Counter-Strike games, though the newly released CrossFire: Warzone is completely different – a top-down strategy game for mobile.
The game soft-launched many months back in select regions, including Singapore and the Philippines. Earlier today, it released globally for iOS and Android.
Warzone offers real-time strategy combat where you’ll fight to reclaim cities under the control of a deadly terrorist group with access to futuristic tech. Thankfully, you’ll have an upgraded arsenal of your own with which to control the battlefield.
As you progress, you’ll gradually build up your base of operations and amass a roster of 25 heroes. With it being something of an MMO, you have the option to form alliances with other players and participate in giant city takeovers.
There are currently some launch events going on, including check-in and power level ranking events. You’ll find more info over on the game’s official Facebook page.
And if you fancy giving it a go, you can download CrossFire: Warzone from over on the App Store and Google Play as a free-to-play game.
