It’s a fairly quiet Apple Arcade weekly update this time around, with only news about three games to share with you all. Regardless, they’re all noteworthy, with details on two new additions to the App Store greats and a mobile version of a popular sports franchise.
Releasing on October 19th
2K Games’ NBA 2K22 will arrive on Apple Arcade next Tuesday. It will allow players to use NBA superstars such as Luka Doncic, Damian Lillard, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, Zion Williamson, Rui Hachimura, and Karl-Anthony Towns on their phone or tablet.
It will feature several game modes, such as Quick Match, which allows players to jump straight into the action using updated 2022 rosters. There’s also MyCAREER, Online Multiplayer, 3v3 and Blacktop modes to enjoy. Meanwhile, for those who prefer the GM and coaching side of the game, there’s Association mode.
Andreas Illiger’s Tiny Wings becomes the latest addition to Apple Arcade’s growing library of App Store Greats today. If you’re unfamiliar, it’s an arcade title where you play as a bird with, unsurprisingly, tiny wings. Unfortunately, our feathery hero is unable to fly properly, so they’ll have to use the abundance of hills in the surrounding area as a slide to gain momentum to soar through the sky if only for a moment.
Finally, Apple has announced that Kingdom Rush Frontiers, the second instalment in the popular series, will arrive on Apple Arcade soon. The game sees you defending your land from dragons, man-eating plants and other nasty beasties by constructing a series of towers and deploying heroes to assist them.
The above games are either available now over on Apple Arcade or will be soon. It is a subscription service that costs $4.99 per month. For more information on other games available in its extensive library, check out our dedicated hub page.
